It is a disease characterized by the inward rotation of the eyelid margin. The lower eyelid, which folds inward in a roll-like manner, can cause stinging, redness, and severe corneal infections (keratitis) if it continues for a long time due to the contact of the eyelash margin with the transparent tissue of the eye (cornea).
Entropion, which usually results from the loosening of the eyelid with age, can also be caused by long-term infections developing on the eyelid margin, chemical burns, etc.
In its treatment, we again resort to surgical methods that are specific to the cause.
